Abstract

The problems of soft soil are the low bearing capacity and shrinking soil, since soft soil known as high water content material. To strengthen and improve the capacity to carry the load, it is necessary to stabilize it by adding some materials. The adding material is used in order to increase the bearing capacity of it, physically and mechanically to alter the nature of soft soils bearing capacity. This research used experimental method, with the percentages of brick waste 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%; then the unconfined compression is tested using the unconfined too land method based on SNI (Standard National Indonesia). The test results then compared to each percentage variations of brick waste in order to see the soil bearing capacity. The comparison of this mixture then shown in the graphic of the bearing capacity impact of the soft soil mixed with brick waste.
